  Kingsley Plantation is a historic site located in Jacksonville, Florida. It is situated on Fort George Island, along the northeastern coast of Florida. Kingsley Plantation is known for its preserved plantation house and the surrounding structures, which provide a glimpse into the history of the plantation era. The plantation was established in 1814 by Zephaniah Kingsley, a slave trader and planter from South Carolina. He purchased the plantation and developed it into a successful sea island cotton plantation. What makes Kingsley Plantation unique is that it was one of the few plantations in the South where free and enslaved Africans lived and worked together. The main attraction of the Kingsley Plantation is the plantation house, known as the Kingsley House. It is a well-preserved example of a plantation house from the antebellum period.
